Hannah McDevitt is experiencing the world of philanthropy up close and personal. Hannah serves as the student representative on the UNI Foundation Board of Trustees. "It inspires me to learn from successful professionals who volunteer their time to find ways to support the university financially," she says.

Two scholarships have made a financial and personal impact on Hannah's college career. As a Division I student-athlete, she is able to compete thanks to a soccer scholarship. She says it has allowed her to balance school, soccer and student organizations. As a Presidential Scholar, Hannah has participated in academic activities beyond the classroom such as seminars with President Nook and a year-long research project.

"These opportunities have given me the chance to utilize classroom skills in a way that benefits the university and community," she says.

She adds, "Donors' generosity has inspired me to give back in the future because I experienced firsthand the power that scholarships have on students' well-being. It truly is critical and life-changing."
