Erica, '13 B.S., Manufacturing Technology:
Metal Casting and Design Manufacturing
First Impressions: I was offered a full-time position at the John Deere Foundry in Waterloo as a junior in college. It was a great opportunity, and I knew then I was in the right field and on the right track for my career.
Now: I am currently an engineer at the John Deere Waterloo Foundry where I am responsible for improving the quality of castings and reducing cost in the business.
Leading Role: While attending UNI, I was involved in the American Foundry Society, Society of Women Engineers, Pella PEERS, Foundry Educational Foundation and John Deere Part-Time Student Program. I also attended the Metal Casting Congress, which gave me a great opportunity to meet other professionals in the industry.
